We can be alone, together

** Every picture is a seperate comic panel. In the first panel, Eureka and Noh are not in the same area. She has just ventured down the basement steps and sees Noh across the room squatting (if you will) in front of the (fail) furnace. And in the panels where it looks like they're sitting next to each other (in the middle), they are supposed to be seen individually, like she's looking at him, and then he's looking at her. Sorry that it's not clear...**

Noh's had it rough in the short amount of time he's been on Earth. His ship with his three teammates aboard had been shot down in orbit (with him being the only survivor), and he has no idea if he'll ever get back home with the ship in pieces beneath a silent lake. He's a stranger in a strange land, masquerading as an entirely different being and afraid that if he's seen in his usual form, he'll be caught and have who knows what done to him. He has learned to be extra cautious when venturing out in the human public, making sure that he has complete control over every aspect of his altered body. It is stressful for him, but he manages to hide it from his human companions' inquiries. For the most part.

Over the course of a few months of living with Flor and Eureka, Noh is able to pick up English fairly well, but still has trouble speaking it clearly or fluently in his human guise. He has a tendency to speak in low, halting tones, concentrating very hard to make sure he's saying every word correctly. This frustrates Flor at times, but Eureka has learned to be patient and to let him speak, because she feels like he isn't speaking enough of his mind and telling them what he's feeling about everything.

She learns, as it turns out, that he doesn't have to say much to get his point across.
